The Official Launch

The official launch of the festival took place at the Radach Lodge and Conference Center in Tamale on April 28, 2023. The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, making it a truly memorable occasion. Among the notable attendees were traditional rulers from various parts of the north, including Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, Professor Edmund Nminnyem Delle Chiir VIII – Nandom Naa and His Royal Majesty the King of Dagbon’s representative, Zangbaling Lana Dr. Yakubu Mahama, and the Chiana Pio’s representative, Anonsona Anthony Atisege III. Also present was the Northern Region Minister, Hon. Shani Alhassan Shaibu, His Excellency the Ethiopian Ambassador to Ghana Asaye Alemayehu Dejjennie, Bessa Simons, acting president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and a delegation from the United States led by Mr. Richard Cox – Vice President of the Harlem Tourism Board.

Several prominent local entertainers also graced the occasion including Atongo Zimba, Dada K.D, Fancy Gadam, Maccasio and several others. Their presence added prestige and significance to the occasion, paving the way for a successful and memorable festival to come.
