Who we are
The Taste Of Afrika™ is an entertainment and events company with a mission to strengthen the underlying kinship and cultural strands that bind Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora with people of African descent throughout the world, while portraying and celebrating their broad cultural diversity. One of the key differentiators for our company is combining the performing arts with tourism, all for the purpose of promoting cultural literacy and celebrating our unity in diversity.
Our key features
Music
Music is a huge part of community life, bringing together artistes and performers to share stories, and culture with the audience through songs and dance. Traditional meet contemporary music on stage with world acclaimed musicians both local and international performing alongside emerging artiste from Tamale all on one stage. The festival will treat audience to a forum where some of these artistes would share their cultural perspective.
Culture
Sharing traditional culture with family, friends and visitors to the community lies at the heart of the Cultural Oneness Festival. The festival would engage a wide spectrum of the community and offer a platform for passing knowledge and experience to the audience. A cultural durbar would present many once in a lifetime opportunity to engage in traditional dance, spear throwing, storytelling and smock weaving. There is a planned tour of surrounding communities to throw more light on the cultural monuments and explore the possibility of investment opportunities for promoting local tourism.
Arts
The arts cultivate a sense of cultural identity and this is where the people feel welcomed. Local art is good for the local economy as it creates jobs and offer a great opportunity for investment and partnership to be explored. This is one major aim of the festival to open investment opportunities to grow the local arts space and foster alliances between art and business to attract visitors both nationally and internationally.
During the launch of the Cultural Oneness Festival, the Taste of Afrika was presented with a 10year development plan for the Dagbon Kingdom, we therefore intend to commit 20% of all proceeds from the festival to support the development project of the Dagbon Kingdom.
Our Point Of Difference
A BUSINESS MEETING PLACE
A global African festival (Cultural Oneness) is a novelty and will begin a reunification of all Africans devoid of colonial boundaries. The pump and pageantry will foster closer ties between ethnic groups divided by colonization. The Cultural Oneness Festival is a festival that encourage people from all walks of life both national (local) and international to come together and experience positive aspects of community life, cultural exchange, education, entertainment and to explore business opportunities to promote the local community for developmental growth.
BEST PRACTICE MODEL
The Cultural Oneness Festival will highlight how cultural celebration could pave the way for significant private sector investment and economic development engagement in an under-exposed and under-resourced area that ironically is replete with rich natural and human resources. The envisaged Business and Economic Development Forum will set in motion a catalytic effect for business to business engagement across multiple sectors and building a virtuous circle with potentially win-win outcomes for participants.
